And I’m just wondering why Ford developed a new vehicle from scratch when they were already sitting on a Wrangler competitor. It would be a cake to federalize because it rides on a shortened version of the current Ranger’s platform. Just plop in an already EPA-approved drivetrain and make sure it passes crash testing.

Looks to me like It’s too small, and not retro enough for the US.

The 5 cyl, 3.2L diesel engine would be a nice addition to the R anger and Bronco. It is the same as was used in the 2015-2019 Transit.

T6 Ranger in Oz and Asian markets has had the 3.2 TDi for years...it has been usurped by the 2.0 TDi twin turbo that is found in higher spec Rangers (including the Raptor) and Everest.

It probably doesn't stand a chance at passing US crash tests.

It probably would have been a HUGE pain in the ass to make that meet US crash tests. Also, the Bronco is on a new platform and the Ranger will be joining that new platform soon.
